After the initial honeymoon, a love affair with the area developed and Roland decided to acquire a 1000-acre piece of land in the mountains. At that time, there were only a few golf courses in Quebec and the idea of building a new one was a good one. So, the story begins in 1972 with the opening of the first 9 holes of the now famous St-Jean-de-Matha Golf Club. First \"clubhouse\", first 9 holes, first tournaments, first meals and history was being written. Two years later was born a complete course with 18 holes in the mountains. The arrival of the 3rd Generation of Salvas brings a youthful momentum that will also lead to the social media adventure (Facebook, Instagram TikTok, YouTube etc.). The restructuring of computer systems and ticketing occupies an important part of the end of this decade and propels the Golf Club, the Glissades, the Bistro and the Auberge to the forefront of technology.
